Tips for Getting Active

We encourage members to get active as much as they can for maximum benefits. It has been proven that short but frequent sessions of activity offer aerobic benefits. Even a few ten minute walks throughout the day makes a difference. What’s most important is making regular physical activity a part of your lifestyle. However, it is always good to check with your physician before starting any exercise program.

Training Tips

We Recommend (For Adults Younger than 65):

  • 20 Minutes of Vigorous Aerobic Activity (Such as Running) Three Days a Week
  • 30 Minutes of Moderate-Intensity Aerobic Activity (Think Brisk Walking or Swimming) Five Days a Week
  • Strength Training Exercises Twice a Week

For Adults above 65 (or with Chronic Health Conditions):

  • Aerobic Exercise
  • Balanced Exercises
  • Strength Training
